please contact Allyson Monferdini, Community Service Chair, at (803) 727-5579 or Community Service Info.

Family Outreach Program

The league chooses one family per year to support with donations of food, clothing, etc. League members

will address this family's specific requirements throughout the year as well as provide special gifts during

holidays.

Preschool Vision Screening

Throughout the year, theCJWL will visit preschools and child care centers in Kershaw County

conducting eye exams. At lest 2 League members must assist in these screenings. If you have time

available during daytime hours, don't forget to sign up to help all of Kershaw County's children.

DSS/Foster Care

Last year's provisional class began this project that we will continue on certain dates throughout the year.

While local foster care parents attend DSS, required classes and training, League members will provide

educational fun, games and crafts for children in foster care. This project was a great success last year and

we'd like to keep it going!

Belle of the Ball

Belle of the Ball started as a provisional project and has become a CJWL tradition. Each year before

prom time, the CJWL gathers and sorts donated formal dresses and then offers them for free to needy

teens referred by area high schools. This is our chance to help teenage girls feel like "Cinderella" for a day

and there are lots of opportunities to volunteer prior to and on the day of the event.

Special Olympics

The Special Olympics in Kershaw County began again in 2007, thanks in large part to League members

employed by the Kershaw County School District. Look for announcements about the Special Olympics

that will take place this spring at Camden Military Academy. There will be an opportunity to volunteer for

anyone seeking a position!

Blues Festival

To support the Fine Arts Center, League members volunteer to work 2 to 3 hours shifts at the annual Blues

Festival that takes place at the beginning of October. It is a fun event and all our volunteers are rewarded

with free tickets to events!
